An Update On Pennsauken's "Fisher Cat"
Published by Anonymous (not verified) on Thu, 06/12/2014 - 14:41The Township has reached out to the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife about the potential of a "Fisher Cat" being in Pennsauken. Based on our conversation with them, it is highly unlikely that this animal is roaming the streets of our community.
In order to do our due diligence, we have been talking with residents about "Fisher Cat sightings." To date, we have not received one piece of photo or video evidence that would lead us to believe this animal has decided to make Pennsauken its newest habitat. Neither Pennsauken's police, fire department or our animal control officer have been asked to respond to any calls regarding this animal.
We ask that our residents not get carried up in speculation or internet rumors about this issue. Pennsauken Township will take appropriate action based on confirmable facts, not hearsay.
UPDATE, 6/13/14 - Pennsauken Township's Animal Control recommends that if residents see any animal, wild or otherwise, threatening and/or attacking people or pets, they should call the police immediately. Non-life threatening issues should be directed to (856) 663-1234; for emergencies, call 9-1-1.
