Tree Removal Inspection

Curb line trees belong to the homeowner. Public works will remove, as a courtesy, and at their discretion, trees that are 40% dead or that pose a safety hazard. They will also remove trees that are causing a sewer problem. You must have copies of two bills for root cutting in the line and the dates must fall into one 12-month period.

There is approximately a one-year waiting list to have a tree removed. A homeowner that does not wish to wait can have the tree removed at his or her own expense. When a contractor removes a tree, please have them dispose of the wood cuttings.

The order of tree removal list is determined by the condition of the tree as well as the date of the request.

Residents may request an inspection of a tree for removal by contacting Public Works. The tree inspector would then inspect the tree to decide if a tree should be taken down prior to the township actually removing a tree.
