The diversion of parkland, which was needed for the installation and operation of an underground electric transmission line for PSE&G, has already taken place. The initial public notice for this project - as well as notice of a public meeting - was posted online and in print on December of 2014.

To help Camden County residents protect the environment, the Freeholder Board is hosting a Household Hazardous Waste Collection on September 16 at the Pennsauken Sanitary Landfill located at 9600 N. River Road in Pennsauken. Residents can bring items to the convenient drive-through collection site from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

In response to those who are affected by the recent hurricanes, Pennsauken Township, in conjunction with the town’s police, fire department, and EMS, is holding a special donation drive to help those in need.

On Saturday, Sept. 9 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., first responders will be collecting monetary donations and specific staple items for hurricane victims. All donations will go directly to organizations actively helping in the relief efforts.

Baer Open Public Meetings Act." Formal Action May Be Taken at These Meetings.

Starting Wednesday, Sept. 6, PSE&G will begin milling work on 36th St., between Remington and Jersey avenues. This work extends to a portion of Jersey Ave. in Camden. Paving of these sections of road will occur on Monday, Sept. 11 and Tuesday, Sept. 12.

Affected residents received a door hanger from PSE&G about this work on Thursday, Aug. 31. No parking signs have also been posted in the affected area and the Pennsauken Police have been notified of the road work.

This month, Camden County will begin road construction on Westfield Ave. from 42nd Street to Tinsman Avenue.

Beginning the week of Sept. 11, Asphalt Paving Systems, Inc. of Hammonton, NJ will be on site marking curbs and corners for the installation of ramps for handicap accessibilty. Actual work begins on the week of Sept. 18.

The Pennsauken Township Municipal Building will be closed on Monday, Sept. 4, in observance of Labor Day. In addition, the Pennsauken Free Public Library will be closed from Saturday, Sept. 2 through Monday, Sept. 4. Both will reopen for normal business operations on Tuesday, Sept. 5.
