Overview
A liquor license allows the licensee to sell alcoholic beverages. Licenses in the state of New Jersey are limited in number to municipalities by population. Currently, obtaining a licenses within the Township would be by transfers only, outside of the available Club licenses. The municipal Clerk’s office does not participate in the purchasing of any liquor license, only in their processing.
How to acquire a liquor license.
- Purchase a liquor license directly from Pennsauken Township. Please note as per our ordinance (chapter 94 article II 94-11 A), Pennsauken Township has reached it's liquor license limit.
- Transfer a liquor license from another individual or businesses.
Steps for a liquor license transfer
- Fill out the Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control form.
- Apply for a Liquor License Transfer Background Check.
