Easter Egg Hunt 2023

Easter Egg Hunt 2023

2023 Easter Egg Hunt Moved To Saturday, April 8

Pennsauken families can once again grab their baskets for the Township’s annual Easter Egg Hunt.

Sponsored by the Pennsauken Township and Kiddie Junction of Pennsauken, this year’s egg hunt will take place on Saturday, April 8, 10:00 a.m., at the Walt Nicgorski Sports Complex, located at Powell and Collins avenues. The Easter Egg Hunt is open to children up to age 9.

There will be three separate egg hunts broken down by age groups. Each hunt will feature special eggs. A child that collects one of these eggs will win special prizes, courtesy of Kiddie Junction.

In addition, family members should bring their cameras or cell phones to take free pictures with the Easter Bunny, who will be joined by several other costumed characters in a special photo area.

Children should be at the sports complex no later than 9:45 a.m. The egg hunts start promptly at 10:00 a.m. and end fairly quickly. The event is usually over within a half hour. In addition, participants should bring a bag, basket, or other container to store their eggs.

Spring Clean-Up And Nature Day

Spring Clean-Up And Nature Day

Because of the inclement weather forecast for Saturday, the Township’s Spring Clean-Up and Nature Day has been moved to Sunday, April 16. The times and locations will not change.

The Pennsauken Environmental Commission and the Township’s Parks and Recreation Department will be holding a spring clean-up and nature day on Saturday, April 15. Held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., 75 volunteers will be split between four locations: Tippin’s Pond, the boat ramp at Derousse Ave., Madison Park, and the Burrough-Dover House. In addition, kids will be able to enjoy fun nature activities at both Tippin’s Pond and Burrough-Dover House.

Each person, family, or team participating in the clean-up will be provided with trash bags, a bucket, gloves (one size fits all), and trash pickers. It is suggested that volunteers wear boots, along with old clothes (long-sleeved shirts and pants), as individuals can get muddy and dirty. These clean-ups may be canceled/postponed due to weather 24 hours prior to the event.

If a volunteer feels ill within 24 hours of the event; comes in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 or is waiting for test results; and/or have personally tested positive for COVID-19 or are awaiting test results, please contact the Parks and Recreation Department at the contact information below and stay home.

The rain date for this event is April 16. Registration for the spring clean-up and nature day is required at least five days prior to the event. To register, please email the following information to jvazquez@pennsauken.gov:

  • Your full name
  • The number of people coming with you, if any
  • Your preferred clean up location
  • A good phone number and email address to contact you with updates, cancellations, etc.
