Pennsauken Township's Municipal Building, the Pennsauken Free Public Library, and Pennsauken's public schools will be closed on Monday, Jan. 16 in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service. All offices will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 17 for normal business operations.

The Freeholder Board has launched Smart911 in Camden County to save critical time in emergency situations and encourages county residents to register with the program. Smart911 is a free nationwide service that allows users to create a Smart911 Safety Profile, which provides vital information to emergency dispatchers and first responders during an emergency.

Waste Management will collect live Christmas trees on Wednesdays as part of yard waste collection. Please be sure to remove all decorations, lights, hooks, etc. before placing your tree curbside.

If for any reason, your tree does not get collected on Wednesday's yard waste pickup, please contact Pennsauken Township's Department of Public Works at (856) 663-0178.

Happy New Year!

The Pennsauken Free Public Library is closing at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 31 for New Year's Eve and will be closed on both Sunday, Jan. 1 and Monday, Jan. 2 in observance of New Year's Day.

The Pennsauken Township Committee will hold its annual reorganization meeting at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 4 at the Pennsauken Country Club on Haddonfield Rd.

The agenda includes the swearing in of a new mayor, deputy mayor, and committee members, as well as appointments to various positions, including the Township’s new administrator. The new committee will then set the 2017 meeting dates for the local governing body.
