Environmental Commission

The Pennsauken Environmental Commission was established “for the protection, development or use of natural resources.” (Adopted 3-13-1978 by Ord. No. 78-3 as Ch. 24 of the 1977 Code)

Currently, the Commission consists of seven members and two alternate members appointed by the Mayor, one of whom shall be a member of the Municipal Planning Board and all of whom shall be residents of Pennsauken. Members serve without pay.

The Commission has the power to conduct research into the use of open land and shall keep an index of all open areas, publically and privately owned, including open marshlands, swamps, and other wetlands, in order to obtain information on the most desirable use of such areas.
