Pennsauken’s first responders are holding a special event during National Night Out, Tuesday, Aug. 2, an annual community-building campaign that is designed to make neighborhoods a safer, better place to live.

Pennsauken’s police, fire department, and EMS are joining forces to connect with residents through a variety of activities. Safety vehicles and apparatus will be on display “touch-a-truck” style. There will also be K9 unit demonstrations; brief cornhole matches with officers; a bounce house for the kids; free grilled sandwiches while supplies last; food trucks offering free desserts to attendees; the opportunity to meet police chaplains and representatives of their affiliated religious organizations; fun activity stations; and giveaways. In addition, the New Jersey Department of Corrections will be on hand with an information table.

National Night Out in Pennsauken is held on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., at the Pennsauken Community Recreation Complex, 1601 Bethel Ave., Pennsauken, NJ.
